A province with layered histories
The Quảng Ninh Museum-Library presents themes in geology, the sea, natural resources, history, and coal mining. Mining has shaped work, settlement, and urban landscapes in parts of the province; the exhibits are a starting point for exploring that history. The mining region is more than an image of coal: it includes people, labour, and the province’s changes.
Put objects beside lived experience
As you view the collection, ask where an object came from, who used it, and what date is documented. An object cannot tell the whole story on its own; context and interpretation help explain changes in daily life. Check current exhibition information before visiting, since displays can be updated.
